Data Collection and Usage (WorkPlace App)
Regarding the WorkPlace Time Keeper iOS application:
- We collect only essential data required for core app functionality.
- Work session data (clock in/out times, locations, breaks, travel time) is stored securely on your local device.
- Optional iCloud sync stores your work data encrypted in your personal iCloud account, accessible only by you.
- We do **not** use your data for tracking purposes or link it to your identity outside of the app's core functionality.
- We do **not** share your work session data with any third parties.
Local Storage (WorkPlace App)
The following data is stored locally on your device:
- Work sessions, break times, and travel records.
- App settings and preferences (managed via standard iOS UserDefaults).
- Theme preferences.
- Current clock-in/out status.
iCloud Storage (Optional - WorkPlace App)
If you choose to enable iCloud sync:
- Your work sessions and related data are synced across your devices using Apple's secure CloudKit framework.
- Sync functionality can be enabled or disabled at any time within the app's Settings.
- iCloud sync requires you to be logged into an Apple ID on your device.
- All data is encrypted during transit and storage using Apple's standard CloudKit security measures. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Notifications (WorkPlace App)
WorkPlace uses notifications for reminders:
- Notifications are strictly local; we do not use remote (push) notifications.
- Reminders can be set for breaks, end-of-day clock-out, and work schedule start times.
- All notifications are scheduled and managed directly on your device.
- You can manage notification permissions for WorkPlace in your device's Settings app.
Data Protection Principles
We adhere to the following data protection principles:
- Minimal Data Collection: We only collect data necessary for the app's intended function.
- User Control: You have control over your data, including the option to enable/disable iCloud sync and manage notification permissions.
- No Cross-Context Tracking: We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
- No Identity Linking: Data collected for core functionality is not linked to your identity for tracking purposes.
- Compliance: We strive to comply with Apple's privacy guidelines and relevant data protection regulations.
In-App Purchases
WorkPlace offers optional in-app purchases (Tips and Leave Management feature):
- Purchases are processed securely through Apple's native StoreKit framework.
- We do **not** collect or store any of your payment information (credit card numbers, etc.).
- All financial transactions are handled directly and securely by Apple.
- Your purchase history is managed through your App Store account.
